In this matter, he has surpassed India’s Rahul Dravid and West Indies’ Shivnarine Chanderpaul. These two legends had scored 1580 and 1575 runs respectively in the fourth innings during their careers.

This was Joe Root’s 64th half-century in Test cricket and his 96th 50+ score overall. Root has equalled Chandrapaul in terms of scoring the most 50+ scores in Test cricket. This West Indies legend has also played 50+ runs innings 96 times in Test cricket. Sachin Tendulkar tops this list with 119 scores of more than fifty.

With this, Joe Root has also surpassed Rahul Dravid in the list of batsmen who have scored the most half-centuries in the history of Test cricket. Joe Root has reached the third position with 64 half-centuries, while Dravid had scored 63 half-centuries in his Test career. Here too Sachin Tendulkar is on top.
