Australia suffered a humiliating defeat by 295 runs in the first Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India. Team India was limited to 150 runs in the first innings. But then in the second innings, on the strength of century innings by Yashasvi Jaiswal (161) and Virat Kohli (100*), the team declared the innings at 487/6 and gave Australia a target of 534 runs.

The Australian team was all out for 238 runs while chasing the target. Mitchell Marsh played the highest innings of 47 runs and Travis Head played the highest innings of 89 runs for the team. At the same time, for India, Mohammad Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah took 3 wickets each in the second innings.

Pat Cummins has given a big statement after the defeat against India. The Australian captain says that even after the defeat in the Perth Test against India, the team will not make any changes in the playing 11 for the upcoming match.

Speaking on ABC Radio after the match against India, Pat Cummins said, ““I would be very surprised if we changed anything.” Cummins then told SEN Radio a short time later, “I am not a selector but I can say that there will be no change.”

Talking about Cummins’s performance in the Perth Test against India, he took three wickets. At the same time, scored 3 and 2 runs with the bat respectively.

Pat Cummins further emphasized that there will be a lot of talks among the team this week regarding the upcoming Adelaide Test and the team will also sweat a lot in the nets. Speaking on Fox Sports, Cummins said,

There’s a lot of experience there, it’s a sample size this summer, I think they’re doing their job really well. But there’s no doubt that we have a bit more work to do and I’m sure there will be a lot of talks this week and a lot of time in the nets and conversations about how if we face a similar attack in similar circumstances, What are the things we could have done better?

The second Test match between India and Australia will be played in Adelaide from 6-10 December.
