The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction will be held on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. After the retention list of each franchise was released on October 31, Punjab Kings retained only two players in the form of Shashank Singh and Prabhsimran Singh. With this, PBKS became the team with the highest purse amount to enter the mega auction and they have Rs 110.5 crore in their purse.
As the Punjab-based franchise gets a chance to bid for their favorite player, their former player Krishnappa Gautam has expressed concern over the team culture. Gautam was a part of PBKS in the 2020 season, that season they bought Gautam for Rs 6.20 crore. The Karnataka batsman, who spent only one season with the team, has now revealed that he never wants to play for Punjab Kings.
Krishnappa Gautam gave a big statement regarding Punjab Kings franchise
While talking to Cricket.com, Gautam said, “I am just very honest. Because, I never had a good experience with them. There are other things, not just about cricket. There are other things too. As a cricketer I don’t want to be treated like this. I think there’s more. It’s what I wear on my sleeve when I play for a team.
It always happens that I give 100 per cent and more than 100 per cent on the field. I never hold anything back, but I won’t do that either. If Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) select me, I will not give them more than 100 percent.
Punjab Kings has released the entire team with the aim of making the team a strong team again. He has also appointed former Australia captain and Delhi Capitals head coach Ricky Ponting as his new head coach. Notably, PBKS has not won any IPL trophy so far and has reached the final of the tournament only once, in 2014.
