After the ongoing T-20 series between India and Bangladesh, Team India has to immediately play a three-match Test series against New Zealand. This test series will be played from October 16, for which New Zealand has announced its team. However, it is a big blow for the visiting team.

According to the report, Williamson will be out of the first Test against India in Bengaluru. It has been reported that Kane had a back problem in the Galle Test against Sri Lanka. For this reason he has been advised to rest at home before leaving for India.

Mark Chapman was included

Meanwhile, uncapped batsman Mark Chapman has been included in the team in place of Williamson. Tim Southee has resigned from the captaincy after the defeat in the Test series against Sri Lanka. Because of this, Tom Latham will now take charge of the team in the Test series against India.

New Zealand selector Sam Wells is hopeful that Williamson will be available in the last leg of the tour. “We have been advised that it would be best for Kane not to take any risks with the injury and to rest,” Wells said as quoted by ESPNcricinfo. We are hopeful that if the rehabilitation routine goes as per schedule, Kane will be available for the final leg of the tour.

He further said, although it is a bit disappointing not to have Kane from the start of the tour, it gives someone else a chance to play a role in the important series.
