Under this change, there will be a minimum of three Tests in each World Test Championship (WTC) series and in ODIs, two balls will be used for the first 25 overs and then the remaining 25 overs will be bowled with a single ball. The ICC board meeting was held in Dubai, in which women’s cricket was also discussed. If TOI report is to be believed, ICC’s Cricket Committee has received many suggestions in the board meeting. For this reason, the Cricket Committee has recommended that in order to promote Test cricket, as many Day-Night Tests i.e. Pink Ball Test matches should be organized in the next WTC cycle and the Test series should also be of at least 3 matches under the WTC. . ICC is considering conducting a three-match test series An ICC source said, “Some countries like South Africa, New Zealand and Sri Lanka play only two-Test series on most occasions. Only India, England and Australia play long Test series. This does not help in promoting Test cricket and makes the distribution of points very unfair. The recommendations are aimed at eradicating such disparities.” Day-Night Test is currently organized only in Cricket Australia, but BCCI has not played a single Test match with pink ball on its soil for two years.
