Meanwhile, discussions have started regarding the mega auction of the next season. The IPL 2025 mega auction will be held at the end of the year. Before this mega auction, a big report has come out, actually the franchises want to change the number of players to be retained. BCCI is going to hold a meeting with all the 10 franchises on April 16 regarding the IPL 2025 mega auction. IPL 2025 Mega Auction: Franchises made big demands from the board The last mega auction of IPL took place in 2022, that year the rule was that franchises could retain 4 players. A player could be bought back using the ‘Right to Match’ (RTM) card, which could include a maximum of 3 Indian and 2 foreign players. Before the IPL 2025 Mega Auction, the franchises are demanding to retain 8 players instead of 4. BCCI source while talking to Times of India said, ‘Things are in a very early stage. The board is seeking recommendations to take the league forward. Player retention is a major factor in this. According to informal discussions, most of the franchises are in favor of a rule where they can retain around eight players before the auction. Franchises feel that there is a need for continuity in the team combination, so efforts should be made to retain a large part of the core team. The BCCI source also said that the franchises have also demanded to increase the current purse from Rs 90 crore to Rs 100 crore. Because BCCI now has big media rights. The BCCI source further said, ‘There will be some resistance as some franchises will want a larger pool of players in the auction to rebuild their teams. Everyone must remember that there are 10 teams now and if the number of retentions is increased, there will be a ‘cream pool’. The meeting to be held on April 16 is likely to revolve around these issues.

He wrote, “In Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and other places, the main cricket stadiums are named after great players from that city or state. Yet, there are no stands in the names of Vishi, Prasad and Chandra in Bengaluru. On behalf of the cricket fans of the state, I urge you and the KSCA to name the stand after these three great cricketers who have upheld the spirit of the game on and off the field.” Guha has also suggested if KSCA does not agree to change the name. “If KSCA does not agree to this, I would like to suggest that the state government name the roads adjacent to the stadium after him.” Guha is not the only person to say this. Recently, at a felicitation ceremony of the 1974 Karnataka Ranji team, former cricketer Sunil Gavaskar shared this through a video. He had said- “I hope that on the occasion of this golden jubilee, KSCA will name some of the stands at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium after these legendary players and honor them, especially those who won the Ranji Trophy for the first time, Prasanna, BS Chandrasekhar, Gundappa Vishwanath….”

His room is always on DND- Rohit Sharma The Indian captain said, “Everyone gets a room these days. But if I get a chance to share a room, there are two people with whom I would not want to share a room – Shikhar Dhawan and Rishabh Pant. They are very dirty. After practice, they just throw their clothes on the bed.” He further added, “His room is always on DND because he sleeps till 1 am. The housekeeping staff comes in the morning and cleans their rooms, so it is important for them to keep their rooms on DND. Otherwise they will go inside, their rooms often remain like this for three-four days. This causes problems to the people living around them. So, I don’t think I will be able to live with them.” In the show, Rohit Sharma also gave his reaction to the defeat in the World Cup 2023 final. He said, I was thinking that the World Cup took place in our country but still we could not win. I thought the country might be angry with us, but I heard people complimenting how well we played and that they enjoyed watching cricket.
Shivam Dubey has put a lot of pressure on players like Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav, KL Rahul – Virender Sehwag
Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag has talked about including Shivam Dubey in the Indian team for the upcoming T20 World Cup to be held in West Indies and USA. Dubey, who is currently a part of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL), is in great form at the moment. Virender Sehwag gave a big statement regarding Shivam Dubey In Cricbuzz’s Hindi show, Virender Sehwag said, “I had said before the match that the way Shivam Dubey is playing, his ticket for the T20 World Cup should be confirmed. They have put a lot of pressure on players like Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav, KL Rahul and now they will have to score runs consistently to make it to the World Cup team. You take those players in the team who are in form. Like Sehwag, great all-rounder Yuvraj Singh also expressed his support for Dubey’s inclusion in the T20 World Cup squad. After watching Dubey’s explosive innings of 45 runs against SRH Yuvraj said on social media, “Good to see Shivam Dubey clearing the field with ease!! I think he should be in the World Cup team. “They have very talented players to choose from”- RCB head coach on Virat’s T20 World Cup selection
Virat Kohli played a brilliant century against Rajasthan Royals on 6th April, which everyone is praising at the moment. But he is also being criticized a lot for the strike rate at which he scored his century. After seeing this inning of his, now there is only one question in everyone’s mind whether he will get a place in the Indian team for the T20 World Cup to be held in June. Now RCB coach Andy Flower has given his opinion on this issue. Speaking about India’s T20 World Cup selection, the RCB coach said that, he does not know what the Indian selectors are thinking at the moment. However, he further said that, Kohli is currently on top among the players available for selection for this ICC event to be held in June. Andy Flower said, “Virat Kohli is a great player and the brilliant innings he played today was excellent. And it was actually really beautiful to see. I really won’t comment on the selection of the Indian team. I don’t know what they’re thinking. They have very talented players to choose from, you know, the team doesn’t have a better player than Virat Kohli in terms of experience.” The RCB coach was highly critical of the team’s batting performance as he felt that Kohli and captain Faf du Plessis failed to utilize the start they had given the team. Flower believes that the team started well with the ball but their momentum ended in the last over of the powerplay. He said, “To be honest, we were a little light in scoring runs. Given the head start we had, I felt that way. So if you look at the 12th over, I think we were at 107 without losing any wicket. I think we should have done that, after being in that position on a good pitch, we should have gone beyond 200, but it did not happen. We started well with the ball, Topli and Yash made a great start but the momentum went in their favor in the last over of the powerplay.
