Sri Lankan Ambassador to Saudi Arabia meets President of Saudi Cricket Federation in Riyadh

This meeting was conducted by Sri Lankan Ambassador to Riyadh Ameer Ajwad Ameer Ajwad and Prince Saud Al Mishal (Image Credit- Twitter Recently, Sri Lanka’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh, Ameer Ajwad, was seen meeting the country’s Prince and Saudi Cricket Federation President Saud Al Mishal Al Saud. The meeting took place on the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the purpose of which included discussing an important development in sports relations between the countries. Specifically, the meeting between Ambassador Ajwad and Prince Al Saud focused on how to leverage cricket as a means of enhancing ties between the people of Sri Lanka and Saudi Arabia. On the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, both countries seek to strengthen their bond through sports diplomacy. During this, Amir Ajwad also expressed his desire to share the country’s cricket expertise with the Saudi Cricket Federation. If Sri Lanka promotes cricket in Saudi Arabia, it can play a vital role in developing cricket infrastructure and talent pool in the country. Also, with its rich cricket heritage and international success, Sri Lanka is set to play a supporting role in promoting the development of cricket in the country. On this occasion, the Head of Chancery of Sri Lanka Embassy in Riyadh, Mr. Anas Amir Ajwad was present. Apart from this, CEO of Saudi Cricket Federation Tariq Saga and Vice President Nawaf Alothaibi were present with Prince Al Saud.
