The BCCI has decided to divide the Ranji Trophy league stages into two windows this season. The first leg of five league games will be played from October 11 to November 13 and then resume on January 23. The Board of Control for Cricket in India has decided that the tournament will be conducted in two phases. Additionally, white-ball tournaments like Vijay Hazare Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy will be held along with Ranji Trophy. According to the new structure of BCCI, each team will play five matches in the first phase of the Ranji season till November 13. Then the tournaments for Vijay Hazare Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy will be put on hold, these tournaments will be held in T20 and 50 over formats respectively. The second phase of the Ranji Trophy will then begin on January 23, comprising the knock-out stages, and the final is scheduled from February 26 to March 2. There was only a three-day gap between Ranji games but players complained about the busy schedule and the lack of rest. After which the interval between games has been increased from three days to four days for the 2024-25 season. Ranji Trophy 2024-25 Format Explained: After several matches were affected due to inclement weather during winter last season, the BCCI has decided to split the Ranji Trophy league stages into two windows this season.
