Virat Kohli shines in ICC Test Rankings, jumps four places, only Indian batsman in top-10

Whereas Virat struggled alone in the second innings and scored 76 runs. Now he has joined the top-10 in the new Test Ranking released (ICC Test Ranking). Kohli has gained four places and has reached 9th position.

He is the only Indian batsman who is in the top-10. At the same time, Indian captain Rohit Sharma has lost four places due to poor form and has slipped to 14th position. Rohit Sharma scored only 5 runs in both the innings of the first Test of the ongoing South Africa series.

Let us tell you that after his brilliant performance in 2023, Virat Kohli is at third place in the ODI batsmen rankings (ICC ODI Ranking). The right-handed batsman scored 1377 runs in 27 innings at an average of 72.47, which included six centuries and eight fifties.

India’s shameful defeat in the test in Centurion

Talking about Centurion Test, South Africa defeated India by an innings and 32 runs. Batting first after losing the toss, India scored 245 runs. KL Rahul played a fighting inning of 101 runs. In response, the host team scored 408 runs thanks to Dean Elgar’s century (185) and Marco Johnson’s half-century (84*).

In the second innings, South African bowlers wreaked havoc and the entire Indian team was reduced to just 131 runs. Kohli was the only Indian batsman to cross the 30-run mark. He had played an inning of 76 runs.

The second test match between South Africa and India is to be played in Cape Town from today. South Africa won the toss and decided to bat first.
