Batting first, the Indian women’s team scored 201 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs.
Currently, the fifth match of Women’s Asia Cup 2024 is being played between India and UAE in Dambulla. In this match, the UAE women’s team won the toss and decided to bowl first. However, their decision has proved to be very wrong so far and the Indian women’s team, batting first, scored 201 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs.
India had a very bad start against UAE and Smriti Mandhana returned to the pavilion after scoring 13 runs. Shefali Verma played a valuable innings of 37 runs with the help of five fours and a six in 18 balls. Dayalan Hemalatha failed to play a big innings and was out after scoring two runs. However, on behalf of the Indian women’s team, captain Harmanpreet Kaur batted tremendously and played a stormy innings of 66 runs with the help of seven fours and a six in 47 balls. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur did not spare any bowler of UAE and hit hard against everyone.
Apart from Harmanpreet Kaur, wicketkeeper-batsman Richa Ghosh also played an aggressive innings of 64 runs. She hit 12 fours and a six during her innings. The batsmen of the Indian women’s team played their role quite well.
For UAE, Kavisha Egodage took 2 wickets for 36 runs in 4 overs while Sameer Dharnidharka and Heena Hotchandani took 1 wicket each.
UAE needs to score 202 runs in 20 overs to win the match
Talking about the Indian women’s team, their performance has been very good in international cricket for some time now and the team would like to win this match as well. UAE cannot be taken lightly but the team is in a very difficult situation at the moment as they have to score more than 200 runs in 20 overs.

Earlier, the Indian women’s team had scored 198 runs in 20 overs against England in 2018, losing four wickets.
