Today, on October 1, 2024, the police has registered an FIR against former Bangladesh cricket team captain Mashrafe Mortaza in a case of extortion and share manipulation. The case of share manipulation is said to be related to the shares of Sylhet Strikers in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

So in the said case, apart from Murtaza, 6 other people are under the investigation of Pallabi Police. Also, now an FIR has been registered in the name of the former cricketer. However, the former captain of the team has not been arrested yet.

The FIR against Murtaza and the other accused was lodged on Tuesday by Sarovar Golam Chaudhary, former chairman of the US subsidiary of the BPL franchise. Inspector Adil Hussain is handling the investigation of this entire matter.

Although summons have been issued against Murtaza, no one has been arrested yet. So, according to the reports of Dailystar Bangladesh regarding this matter, the change process against the former cricketer has started rapidly.

During this time, the former cricketer also got a chance to take command of the national team. Since his debut against Zimbabwe in 2001, Mortaza has played 36 Tests, 220 ODIs and 54 T20 matches for Bangladesh.

The all-rounder player has 797 runs in 36 Test matches and 78 wickets in his name, 270 wickets in 220 ODI matches with 1387 runs and 377 runs in T20 cricket and 42 wickets in his name. Apart from this, Mortaza played 1 IPL match for Kolkata Knight Riders in the year 2009 against Deccan Charges.
