Bangladesh defeated Pakistan by 10 wickets in the first test match played in Rawalpindi. The performance of the players of the Pakistan team in this match was quite disappointing. Not only this, after the defeat against Bangladesh, Pakistan has suffered another big setback.

Due to slow over rate, ICC has imposed a big fine on Pakistan team. Actually, ICC has ruled that 6 points of Pakistan and 3 points of Bangladesh will be deducted due to slow over rate in the first test match played between Pakistan and Bangladesh in Rawalpindi. ICC found that during the match, Pakistan had bowled 6 overs late and Bangladesh had bowled 3 overs late.

Apart from this, a fine of 30% of the match fee has been imposed on the Pakistan team and 15% on Bangladesh. Pakistani team captain Shan Masood and Bangladeshi captain Nazmul Hussain Shanto have also accepted this punishment by admitting their mistake. After this fine, the Bangladesh team has slipped from sixth to seventh position in the WTC points table. It now has 21 points. However, the ranking in the WTC points table is determined on the basis of the percentage of wins.

Bangladesh won the first test

Let us tell you, in this match, Pakistan declared its first innings at 448 runs for 6 wickets. After this, Bangladesh scored 565 runs after losing all wickets in its first innings, thanks to Mushfiqur Rahim’s valuable innings of 191 runs. Pakistan team failed to bat well in the second innings and was all out for 146 runs. Bangladesh achieved the target of 30 runs without losing any wicket.

Even though Pakistan has lost the first Test, the team will definitely want to win the second match. The second Test is starting in Rawalpindi from August 30. Bangladesh is leading 1-0 in the two-match Test series. If the hosts have to win the second Test, then it is very important for them to perform well in all three departments.
