Angelo is the 17th player in the world to achieve this record
The second match of the ongoing Test series between Sri Lanka and New Zealand (SL vs NZ) has started today, Thursday, 26 September. So, along with being included in the playing eleven of Sri Lanka in this match, experienced all-rounder Angelo Mathews has registered a special record in his name.
Let us tell you that this was Mathews’ 200th match played for Sri Lanka at home, in all three formats combined. He has become the 17th player in the world to play more than 200 matches at home, and the third player from Sri Lanka overall. Before Mathews, former Sri Lankan captains Mahela Jayawardene (249) and Kumar Sangakkara (235) have played more than 200 matches at home, in all three formats combined. But now Mathews’ name has also been added to this special list.
