Michael Clarke: Discussion about the future of Test cricket is not a new thing, due to the increasing popularity of T20 cricket, the future of Test cricket seems to be in danger. South Africa cricket team is currently playing a two-match test series against India, after which the team is ready for the test series against New Zealand.

South Africa has included 7 new players in the squad for the Test series against New Zealand, as the star players will participate in the second season of SAT20. Veteran players of the cricket world are seen getting angry over this decision of South Africa.

Former Australian captain Steve Waugh has also appealed to New Zealand to boycott the upcoming Test series against South Africa. Now Michael Clarke has given a big statement regarding the future of Test cricket.

In my view, Test cricket is at the top – Michael Clarke

Former Australian player Michael Clarke, while speaking on ESPN, said, ‘Honestly, it is sad to see. I understand South Africa’s logic but in my view Test cricket is on top. In my opinion, no domestic league in the world should come before this. Playing for your country is an important thing. There are many people around the world who would not be afraid of where Test cricket is going. We need to try and find solutions.

Giving a big suggestion, Michael Clarke also emphasized that every Test cricketer should be given equal match fee. Michael Clarke further said, ‘It seems that the solution to many things in life is money. Let’s start with a similar amount of money for every Test cricketer in terms of match fees. Don’t give priority to Australia, England and India, ensure that every country gets equal fee.
