Bumrah was awarded the Player of the Match award for his excellent bowling in the Perth Test.
The Indian cricket team is currently on Australia tour for the five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) test series. So, in the first match of this series played at Optus Stadium in Perth, Team India had registered a historic victory by 295 runs due to the amazing bowling of Jasprit Bumrah.
This was India’s biggest win in terms of runs in Test cricket on Australian soil. So after this victory, many Australian cricket fans have started calling Jasprit Bumrah’s bowling action suspicious. Bumrah was also seen in the role of stand-in captain in the absence of Rohit Sharma in this match.
On the other hand, former Indian cricket team coach Greg Chappell has targeted those who questioned Bumrah’s bowling action. Defending Bumrah, the former veteran cricketer said that the nonsense of questioning his action should be stopped now.
Greg Chappell gave a big statement
Let us tell you that after questions were raised on Jasprit Bumrah’s bowling action on social media, in his column written for The Sydney Morning Herald, Chappell said – Yet it was Australia’s batting performance, which was more worrying.
India’s bowlers, led by the lethal Jasprit Bumrah, looked faster and more dangerous. By the way, please stop this nonsense of questioning Bumrah’s action.
Chappell further said – It is unique, and obviously clean. This is the mark of a champion bowler, who brings out his art during the match. Australia’s top order is a matter of concern. To avoid forced changes in the team, they (Australia) will have to perform in Adelaide.
It is noteworthy that the second match of this series will be played in Adelaide from 6th December. This will be a day-night pink ball match. Indian captain Rohit Sharma will also be seen making a comeback in the team in this match.
