Sitting with every person and telling them what to do or how to correct their mindset is going to be challenging – Rohit Sharma
Team India had to face 0-3 defeat in the three-match Test series at home against New Zealand. After 24 years, a team has whitewashed India in their home Test series. The defeat against the Kiwis has changed many things for the Indian team.
The team’s place in the World Test Championship final seemed assured. But now the team will have to win all four matches of the upcoming five-match Test series against Australia at any cost to play the final. The team has come to second place in the points table after the defeat against New Zealand.
Meanwhile, before the start of Australia tour, a big statement of Indian captain Rohit Sharma has come out. He said that playing in Australia will be different from other challenges, the players know their game and have their own mentality for every match.
It is going to be challenging- Rohit Sharma
According to Times of India, Rohit Sharma told,
We talk a lot about the game, but sitting down with every individual and telling them what to do or how to correct their mentality is going to be challenging. They come with a certain mindset, a certain way of thinking about their game. This has brought them success in the past. But we all understand that Australia is going to be a different ball game.
Sarfaraz Khan, Dhruv Jurel, Akash Deep, Prasidh Krishna, Harshit Rana and Nitish Kumar Reddy are playing for the first time in the Indian team for Australia tour. The Indian captain said that the atmosphere in the dressing room will be easy for the young players, because they will be playing in Australia for the first time.
For young players who haven’t been there before, it will be important to create an environment where they are comfortable and not intimidated by where they are playing and who they are playing against. It is important that from our side, we keep telling them that this is another place to play cricket.
