The first match of the ongoing Test series between Bangladesh and South Africa (BAN vs SA) is being played at the Sher-e-Bangladesh Cricket Stadium in Dhaka. So the third day of the game ended today on 24th October. At stumps on the third day, the hosts led South Africa by 81 runs.

Earlier, Bangladesh was all out for just 106 runs in the first innings. South Africa scored 308 runs in the first innings and took a lead of 202 runs over hosts Bangladesh. After this, Bangladesh could not show anything special in the second innings and lost 6 wickets for 112 runs.

But after this, a partnership of 138 runs was seen for the 7th wicket between Mehdi Hasan Miraj (87*) and Zakir Ali (58), due to which Bangladesh made a comeback in the match to some extent.

At the time of stump on the third day, Bangladesh had scored 283 runs at the loss of 7 wickets in the second innings after 85 overs. They have the lead, but we have three wickets to take.

Maharaj further said- So we want to stop them as early as possible, but I still think that considering the good job we have done with the bat in our first innings, we are in the pound seat. Ideally, we would like to restrict them to 100 runs or below, so it will be important that we get off to a good start in the morning and then assess the match from there.
