India defeated Australia by 295 runs in the first Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. On the strength of century innings by Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli, India had set a target of 534 runs for Australia. The host team was all out for 238 runs and India has taken a 1-0 lead in the series.

During the Perth Test, fans got to see the rivalry between Mohammed Siraj and Marnus Labuschagne. Labuschagne was having trouble scoring runs and Siraj was hitting him with bouncers. Siraj was also seen staring at the Australian batsman and a war of words was also seen between the two.

Marnus Labuschagne was out after scoring 2 runs in 52 balls against Siraj in the first innings of the Perth Test. At the same time, he was out LBW by Jasprit Bumrah in the second innings.
