Gautam Gambhir’s appointment as India’s next head coach looks almost certain. According to some media reports, he recently took part in a video shoot at Eden Gardens to bid farewell to his fans in Kolkata. The Indian cricket team is currently without a head coach after Rahul Dravid’s tenure ended with the victory of the T20 World Cup 2024.
According to sources from the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), Gambhir suddenly arrived at Eden Gardens with his video team on Friday. He shot for some time in privacy in the stadium. This is probably his farewell video for KKR. Gambhir has an emotional connection with KKR, so he wants to say goodbye to the team in a special way.

Dravid took over the responsibility of Team India’s head coach at the end of 2021 and remained in this position till the T20 World Cup-2024. Although his tenure ended after the ODI World Cup-2023, his tenure was later extended till the 2024 T20 World Cup.
BCCI secretary Jay Shah had earlier confirmed that the new head coach will take charge from Team India’s tour of Sri Lanka, which will consist of 3 ODIs and as many T20Is. Currently, the Men in Blue are facing Zimbabwe in a five-match T20I series. National Cricket Academy (NCA) head VVS Laxman is serving as the head coach on this tour.
