BCCI Secretary Jay Shah recently revealed that the board will soon release an advertisement inviting applications for the role of head coach for the senior men’s team. This decision of Shah clearly shows that Rahul Dravid’s tenure is going to end soon. Dravid’s tenure was briefly extended after the expiry of his initial two-year contract after the ODI World Cup 2023.
According to a report in Times of India, great batsman Dravid will not apply for the post of head coach again. Despite BCCI keeping the door open for his possible comeback, Dravid seems to be moving ahead. On his role, which is set to end with the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024 in June.
Regarding the new application for the head coach, Jay Shah was quoted by News 18 as saying, “We cannot decide whether the new coach will be an Indian or a foreigner. “It will depend on the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC).”
