Karthik recently did not include the legendary MS Dhoni in his all-time India playing XI.
Former Team India wicketkeeper batsman Dinesh Karthik recently chose his favorite all-time India playing XI. Karthik chose five current cricketers in the team but he did not include former Indian captain MS Dhoni. Cricket fans were shocked to keep the legendary wicketkeeper batsman Dhoni out of the all-time playing XI and Karthik was also severely criticized for this.
However, 39-year-old Karthik has now corrected his mistake and apologized to the fans for not selecting Dhoni. He said that it was a big mistake to do so. Along with this, he has also made a claim about Dhoni. Karthik admitted his mistake while answering users’ questions on Cricbuzz.
Dinesh Karthik apologized to the fans regarding MS Dhoni
The wicketkeeper batsman said, “Bhai log, I made a big mistake. It was really a mistake. I realized it after the video came out. When I selected this XI, many things were happening. I really forgot the wicketkeeper (Dhoni). Fortunately Rahul Dravid was part of the XI so everyone thought that I have kept a part-time wicketkeeper. But I really did not think of Rahul Dravid as a wicketkeeper.” He said that Dhoni is definitely part of the XI and the captaincy will also remain with him.
Karthik said, “Can you believe it? Being a wicketkeeper, I forgot to add wicketkeeper. This is a big mistake. Such a big mistake should not have happened. This is very clear to me. Thala Dhoni is completely fit for any format.” Karthik claimed, “I believe that Dhoni is not only India’s but he is one of the greatest cricketers ever to play this game. I really believe so.”
He further said, “If I make the team again, I will definitely make one change. Thala Dhoni will be at number 7 and he will be the captain of any Indian team. There is no doubt about it.”
