Chris Gayle will lead Telangana Tigers in the Indian Veteran Premier League


At Telangana Tigers, Gayle will be joined by former West Indies teammate Ricardo Powell and former Indian and Chennai Super Kings players – Sudeep Tyagi and Manpreet Gony. The tournament is organized by the Board for Veteran Cricket in India (BVCI) and managed by 100 Sports.

The cricket world will get a chance to see the likes of Virender Sehwag, Suresh Raina, Rajat Bhatia, Chris Gayle, Munaf Patel, Praveen Kumar, Yusuf Pathan, Herschelle Gibbs and many other great players playing during the tournament. Acting President of BVCI and President of IVPL Praveen Tyagi said, “We are trying to create the best league in India after IPL, we have added the best cricketers from the world.”

The participating teams include VVIP Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan Legends, Red Carpet Delhi, Chhattisgarh Warriors, Telangana Tigers and Mumbai Champions. Each team will have four to five elite players from around the world.

Like last time, Mallika Sagar is back as an auctioneer for the mega auction this year too. The franchises had submitted the list of retention and release players on October 31. BCCI has shortlisted 577 players for the upcoming auction, which includes 367 Indian and 210 foreign players. Whereas, 3 players are from Associate Nation. 319 Indian uncapped and 12 uncapped foreign players will be included in the auction. Let us tell you, out of 577 players, the luck of only 204 players is going to shine, out of which 70 slots will be for foreign players. Punjab Kings will enter the auction with a purse of Rs 110.5 crore Punjab Kings have retained only two players, Shashank Singh and Prabhsimran Singh, ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. The biggest amount in the franchise auction will be Rs 110.5 crore. Royal Challengers Bangalore will enter with Rs 83 crore, which will be the team with the second highest purse in the auction.
