The Sports Minister of Sri Lanka had expressed concern about the fact that drug addiction has increased a lot within the team and nothing good is going on in the team due to internal disputes.
Matthews confirmed that an official investigation had been launched into the players’ late partying until 3 or 4 a.m. and tensions within the team and others, including interim coach Jerome Jayaratne.
Angelo Mathews had given the statement that, ‘I can neither confirm this nor say that this is all false news. But I can say from my side that whichever player is found guilty, strictest action will be taken against him.
