Prithvi Shaw made his debut for India at the age of 18 and created history by scoring a century.
Indian player Prithvi Shaw remained unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction. No franchise showed interest in buying him, his base price was Rs 75 lakh. Prithvi was once a rising talent in Indian cricket, he was also called the next Sachin Tendulkar of India.
Prithvi made his debut for India at the age of 18 and created history by scoring a century. But then due to poor form and fitness, he started dropping. Prithvi played his last match for India in July 2021 against Sri Lanka in Colombo. Meanwhile, recently Prithvi Shaw shared the story of his first meeting with Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar.
Prithvi Shaw met Sachin Tendulkar for the first time at the age of 9.
Prithvi Shaw revealed that he was just 9 years old when he saw Sachin Tendulkar in person for the first time. The batsman came to know that Sachin also plays in MIG, so he went to that club and started practicing.
Shaw told that, he wanted to take a photo with Sachin sir, but there were too many people so he could not take it. Then club coach Jagadish sir requested Sachin Tendulkar to watch Prithvi batting. When Tendulkar was watching Prithvi bat, Shaw missed two-three balls due to pressure.
Prithvi Shaw while talking on Focused Indian YouTube channel said,
I came to know that Sachin sir also plays in MIG (Middle Income Group Ground). Then I came to that club and started practicing. Then I saw Sachin sir playing for the first time. I saw him in person for the first time. I watched from a distance, apparently he was practicing on the main wicket, then he left, at that time I did not take a photo because there were a lot of people there. At that time I was about 9 years old. And then the next time I was batting, we were batting on the middle wicket, then Jagdish sir requested Sachin sir to watch me bat once.
Prithvi further said,
Sachin Sir was standing on the first floor of MIG Club, he was watching. I saw that sir was watching. Now what happened under that pressure, I missed two-three balls. Till then I was batting okay. Now when Sachin sir was standing, my eyes were above the ball, I was not even looking at the ball, then it came down, then I played a little well, then had a little conversation with the next player.
