In the first match of Duleep Trophy 2024, India B defeated India A by 76 runs. In this match, all the players of India B performed very well and played an important role in their team’s victory.

India A needed 275 runs to win this match. A discussion started between India B captain Abhimanyu Easwaran and wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant regarding the demand for DRS. Rishabh Pant felt that it was not out and he told his captain not to ask for DRS. However, Abhimanyu Easwaran did not listen to Rishabh Pant and he took DRS. In the end, Rishabh Pant was proved right and India B lost its review.

All this was seen during the second innings of India A. Shivam Dubey came to bat and was playing his 8th ball. Mukesh Kumar bowled a very good ball which hit Shivam Dubey’s pad. Looking at this, it seemed that the ball had missed the stumps. However, Mukesh Kumar appealed to his captain Abhimanyu Easwaran to take DRS. Abhimanyu Easwaran started asking Rishabh Pant whether he should take the review or not.

Rishabh Pant also told Abhimanyu Easwaran that he felt the ball was not hitting the stumps and he should not waste the review. However, Abhimanyu Easwaran asked for DRS and it was seen that the ball was not hitting the stumps.

In this match, Rishabh Pant played aggressive batting and scored a stormy innings of 61 runs in the second innings for India B. Not only this, Sarfaraz Khan contributed 46 runs. Mushir Khan scored 181 runs in the first innings for India B.

KL Rahul scored 57 runs in the second innings for India A but he failed to guide his team to victory. In the second innings, Yash Dayal took three wickets for India B while Navdeep Saini and Mukesh Kumar took 2 wickets each.
