Apart from this, wicketkeeper Jamie Smith could only score 16 runs and got caught by Kusal Mendis against Vishwa Fernando. Apart from this, Joe Root 13, Chris Woakes 2, Gus Atkinson 5, Ollie Stone 15, Josh Hall 2 and Shoaib Bashir got out cheaply after scoring 1 run.

At the time of stumps on the second day, Sri Lanka has scored 211 runs at the loss of 5 wickets after 45 overs in the first innings. Captain Dhananjay de Silva is present at the crease with 64* runs and Kamindu Mendis with 54* runs. There has been a partnership of 118 runs between the two for the sixth wicket, due to which Sri Lanka’s innings has recovered a bit.

Earlier, opener Pathum Nissanka batted brilliantly for the team and scored 64 runs. But Dimuth Karunaratne (9), Kusal Mendis (14), Angelo Mathews (3) and Dinesh Chandimal (0) disappointed. So far, Ollie Stone has taken 2 wickets and Chris Woakes and Josh Hall have taken 1 wicket each from England.
