Faf du Plessis was controversially run-out by Mitchell Santner at the non-straighter end in the 13th over.

In IPL 2024, the great match of 18th May is being played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Batting first, RCB scored 218 runs at the loss of 5 wickets. Rain disrupted the match after the first three overs. But even after the interruption, Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis did not change their stance and were seen batting aggressively.

Virat Kohli was caught-out by Daryl Mitchell in the 10th over. RCB captain Faf du Plessis had completed his half-century in 35 balls and was batting well. But then in the 13th over, he was run-out in a controversial manner by Mitchell Santner at the non-straighter end. On social media, fans are expressing their anger over the decision of the third umpire.

The 13th over of Royal Challengers Bangalore’s innings was bowled by Mitchell Santner. The last ball of the over was played strongly by Rajat Patidar, Mitchell Santner tried to stop the ball, but the ball touched his fingers and hit the stumps of the non-striker’s end.

In the replays, Faf du Plessis was seen trying to keep his bat inside the crease. The third umpire looked at every angle, and decided that Faf du Plessis’ bat was in the air when the ball hit the stumps. After which Du Plessis was declared out.

Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli and the entire RCB team were shocked by the umpire’s decision. Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Faf du Plessis played an inning of 54 runs in 39 balls with the help of 3 fours and 3 sixes.
