Former India fast bowler Dodda Ganesh appointed as new head coach of Kenya


Ganesh has been appointed the head coach replacing Lameck Onyango and will be part of the Kenya coaching staff alongside Onyango, Joseph Angara and Joseph Asichi.

Former Indian fast bowler Dodda Ganesh has been appointed the head coach of Kenya’s men’s cricket team ahead of the 2026 T20 World Cup qualifiers. 51-year-old Ganesh played four Tests and one ODI for India. He has taken a total of 6 wickets. Not only this, the former player also has 29 runs in international cricket.

Dodda Ganesh’s performance in domestic cricket has always been very good. He has taken a total of 493 wickets and scored 2,548 runs in 193 first class matches including List A matches for Karnataka. Ganesh has been appointed as the head coach in place of Lameck Onyango and he will be a part of the Kenya coaching staff along with Onyango, Joseph Angara and Joseph Asichi. The former players would also like the Kenya team to perform well in the upcoming matches and win the hearts of all the fans.

Let us tell you, the best performance of this associate member country of the International Cricket Council (ICC) so far was in 2003 when they secured their place in the semi-finals of the ODI World Cup. Kenya has qualified for only one T20 World Cup tournament. They participated in the T20 World Cup held in South Africa in 2007.
