T20 World Cup is starting from 2 June 2024
In the ongoing season of IPL 2024, 23-year-old young player Abhishek Sharma is performing brilliantly for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Abhishek made a lot of headlines with his hard-hitting batting as an opening batsman for the team in the ongoing season. He has scored 288 runs in 8 matches played for the team, and is the second highest run scorer for Hyderabad in the ongoing season.
Also, this time in IPL, Abhishek is also in the race to win the Emerging Player of the Season award. On the other hand, now a big statement of former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, who was the mentor of Abhishek Sharma, has come out. Yuvraj says that he is not ready for the World Cup yet.
It is noteworthy that this time the T20 World Cup will be played jointly hosted by West Indies and USA from June 2. So the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has to announce the Indian team before May 1. However, before this, Yuvraj’s statement regarding Abhishek is making headlines.
Yuvraj Singh gave a big statement regarding Abhishek Sharma
Let us tell you that former veteran all-rounder and two-time World Cup champion player was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz – Abhishek is almost there (Indian team), but I do not think he is ready for the World Cup yet. We have to choose an experienced team for the World Cup.
After the World Cup he should be ready to play for India. This is one thing he should be prepared for. The coming 6 months in cricket are going to be very important for Abhishek.
Yuvraj further said – He has the ability to play big shots, and is hitting big sixes. He looks fantastic but he needs to learn to take singles and rotate the strike. He will have to learn to play those bowlers who are bowling better and target other bowlers. This is one aspect I think he should work on.
