Speaking at the post-match press conference, Axar Patel emphasized the positive impact of SKY’s constant encouragement on the bowlers. Axar said, “I played with Surya bhai (as captain) in the last Australia series.

I know he is the captain of the bowlers. He (sort of) gives you a free hand to decide first. Whenever you hit a boundary, he comes and says it was a good ball. He keeps giving you inputs. As a player, I have a good relationship with him.”

Axar recalled the five-match T20 series against Australia in India last year, which India won 4-1. He observed Yadav’s consistent leadership style. “As a captain, I also played with him in the last five matches (against Australia) and when I was playing today, I didn’t feel much change,” he said.

In the first T20, Suryakumar Yadav also showed his strategic skills in the first three overs. Akshar explained how captain Surya’s strategic suggestions helped the team focus on taking wickets despite the opposition team scoring early runs.
