The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) on Friday, February 16, suspended women’s team head coach Vidyut Jaisimha following complaints of indecent behavior by women cricketers. It is noteworthy that the cricketers had alleged that in January 2024, when the team was traveling in a bus, the head coach spoke indecent words to them under the influence of alcohol. This incident took place on January 12 but came to light recently.
In a letter to Jaisimha, the HCA president cited an anonymous email received by the HCA, along with a video showing him carrying and drinking alcohol in the team bus during a coaching assignment with the Hyderabad State team.
He further said, “Besides, the videos were also circulated in various WhatsApp groups and also shown on TV news channels. This is a matter of grave concern and I have asked for a thorough investigation into the matter and a decision regarding the investigation will be taken based on the outcome. ,
“While the investigation is ongoing, I am directing you to refrain from participating in any cricket activity on behalf of HCA,” Jagan Mohan wrote. Meanwhile, the HCA president said that if necessary, criminal action will be taken against the coach. He clarified that HCA will deal strictly with anyone involved in such activity and impose a lifetime ban on them.
The HCA took action after women cricketers allegedly approached the police demanding action against Jaisimha. This incident happened when the women’s team was going from Hyderabad to Vijayawada for a match a few days ago.
