In IPL 2024, Indian young player Harshit Rana has bowled brilliantly for Kolkata Knight Riders. In the final match, Harshit played an important role in the team’s victory by taking 2 big wickets in his spell against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Apart from his performance this season, Harshit Rana has also made a lot of headlines due to his aggressive celebrations on the field.
In the very first match of the season, he did a ‘flying kiss’ celebration after dismissing Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Mayank Agarwal. After which BCCI fined him. After the fine, in another match, after taking a wicket, Harshit Rana was seen quietly keeping a finger on his mouth as a celebration.
BCCI then banned him for one match. But we did not see any effect of all this on Harshit’s game, he emerged as a match-winning bowler for the team throughout the season. Recently Harshit Rana has given a big statement about his on-field celebration.

Harshit Rana says that he does not go to the field to make friends but to win the match. He has played cricket in this style throughout his life. While talking to News18, Harshit Rana said, ‘Next time I won’t do it after getting someone out. This is my cricket, I have always played my cricket like this.’
‘I am a fun-loving guy off the field but on the cricket pitch, I don’t go to make friends but to win matches. Abhishek Porel hit 16 runs in my first over, you can’t laugh if someone hits you for a six. I took his wicket in the next over, it was my right to celebrate, but I was banned.’
Harshit Rana says that being from Delhi has helped him to be aggressive on the field. He also gave the example of players like Virat Kohli, Gautam Gambhir, Ishant Sharma and Rishabh Pant. Harshit further said, ‘This tag has been given to us, we are from Delhi, we play cricket with our hearts. This aggression of Delhi has made Virat Kohli The Virat Kohli. Ishant Sharma played 100 Test matches and Rishabh Pant showed his magic at Gabba. And Gautam Gambhir won two World Cup finals for India.
