Leicestershire County Cricket Club’s brilliant fast bowler Chris Wright has revealed that he is facing a 9-month anti-doping ban. Let us tell you, Chris Wright renewed his contract with the club last year. Not only this, he was present for his team throughout the season.

Chris Wright was banned in October 2023 after he tested positive for a trace amount of an illegal substance. The cricket regulator and the National Anti-Doping Agency admitted that Wright had taken it unknowingly. The great fast bowler is very disappointed with the test coming positive.

According to India Today, Chris Wright said, “I was absolutely shocked when my test report came positive and traces of illegal substances were found in my body. At that time I was eating very little and even fruits from popular places. I did not eat or drink anything else apart from this. I had also written this in my doping control form and that too before giving the sample. However, things did not go in my favor.”

Chris Wright further said, ‘I am very sad to see that traces of illegal substances have been found in my body. I neither ate nor drank anything wrong. I have no idea how this trace came inside me. However, I am happy that the panel has not found me guilty and I can return to cricket very soon. This is a very bad time for me and my family.

I also want to get back on the cricket field as soon as possible. I want to play matches again for Leicestershire Club. As of now, when my ban is completely over, I will return to the cricket field again. I am missing all my team mates a lot.
