Bumrah and Virat performed brilliantly in the Perth Test match.
ICC has released the latest Test rankings after the first Test match between Australia and India played in Perth. Indian team’s star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has gained in the latest rankings and after taking a total of eight wickets in the Perth Test match, he has once again become the number-1 Test bowler. At the same time, Virat and Jaiswal, who scored centuries in that match, have also got advantage in the ranking.
ICC Test Ranking: Virat Kohli got advantage after scoring a century
Team India’s young opening batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal, who played a memorable inning of 161 runs in the second innings of the Perth Test, has now reached the second position in the ICC Test batsmen’s rankings. Yashasvi has gained two places and is now only behind Joe Root. Virat Kohli also scored a century in the second innings of Perth and due to this he got a huge advantage in the ranking. Virat Kohli has jumped 9 places to 13th position.
While Rishabh Pant is still in the top 10 and remains at number six, Shubman Gill, who could not play the first Test, has lost one place in the rankings. Gill has slipped to 17th position. Whereas captain Rohit Sharma also could not play the first test match, he did not suffer any loss in the ranking. Rohit is currently at 26th position.
ICC Test Ranking: R Ashwin reached fourth place
Talking about the Test ranking of bowlers, Bumrah has once again become the number-1 Test bowler. Bumrah took five wickets in the first innings of the Perth Test and three wickets in the second innings. For that brilliant performance, he was also named Player of the Match. South African fast bowler Kagiso Rabada is at second position while Australia’s Josh Hazlewood is at third position.
India’s R Ashwin, who was not a part of the playing XI in the Perth Test, has gained one place in the rankings and has come at number four. Ravindra Jadeja has slipped one place to seventh place. Mohammad Siraj, who took a total of five wickets in the Perth Test, has also gained three places in the rankings and has reached number 25.
