According to him, if Steve Smith opens the Australian team in Test cricket, then he can break Brian Lara’s record of 400 runs.

Michael Clarke said on ESPN’s Around the Wicket podcast, ‘If Smith wants to do it, I hope he should approve it. After listening to Pat Cummins’ quotes I think it will be a simple swap. I think Cameron Green may be seen opening in place of David Warner unless Steve Smith has to do so. If he has to open, then Steve Smith should open and Cameron Green should bat at number four or number 6.
