Team India’s explosive female batsman Shefali Verma was fielding on the covers wearing a helmet. Let’s find out why she was fielding wearing a helmet.
A one-match Test series was being played between India and South Africa women’s cricket team at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. In this match, Team India captain Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and chose to bat first, in which the Indian team scored 525 runs by the end of the first day’s play.
In the first session of the second day, Team India declared the first innings at 603 runs after losing 6 wickets. In reply, South Africa’s women’s team’s first innings was reduced to 266 runs. After that, they batted in follow-on but the second innings was also all out at 373 runs. They had given Team India a target of 37 runs, which Team India completed in just 9.2 overs during the second innings. With this, the Indian women’s team won the only Test match by 10 wickets.
But during South Africa’s second innings, something happened that left everyone stunned. Actually, Team India’s explosive female batsman Shefali Verma was fielding on the covers wearing a helmet.
Seeing this, the fans were shocked, because in cricket, the fielder is allowed to wear a helmet only if he is batting at Silly Point, but this is the area of covers. However, there is no news yet about why she did this. Why was she fielding wearing a helmet?
