IND vs ENG, 2nd Test, Day 2 Report: The second match of the Test series between India and England is being played in Visakhapatnam from 2 February. The first day’s play was in the name of India. By the end of the first day, the team had scored 336 runs at the loss of 6 wickets. Today on the second day Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a double century.
Team India’s first innings was reduced to 396 runs. The England team was all out for 253 runs in the first innings due to Jasprit Bumrah’s 6 wicket haul. By the end of the second day, Team India has scored 28 runs in the second innings without losing any wicket. Along with this, Team India has also taken a lead of 171 runs.
IND vs ENG: Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a double century
After the first day’s play, Yashasvi Jaiswal (179*) and Ravichandran Ashwin (5* runs) were unbeaten at the crease. On the second day, Ravichandran Ashwin returned to the pavilion after scoring (20) runs at the hands of James Anderson. Then Yashasvi Jaiswal played with patience and completed a double century. Yashasvi Jaiswal completed his double century in 277 balls. Yashasvi is the third youngest player to score a double century for India in Tests.
Yashasvi Jaiswal was out to James Anderson after scoring 209 runs in 290 balls with the help of 19 fours and 7 sixes. The lower order batsmen could not continue the game for long and the Indian team was all out for 396 runs. James Anderson, Shoaib Bashir and Rehan Ahmed took 3-3 wickets in the first innings against India.
Jasprit Bumrah took 6 wickets in the first innings
England made a good start while batting in the first innings. There was a partnership of 59 runs for the first wicket between Ben Duckett and Jack Crawley. Kuldeep Yadav gave the first success to Team India by dismissing Ben Duckett for 21 runs. Birthday boy Jack Crawley was moving towards a century, but then Akshar Patel showed the way to the pavilion for Jack Crawley (76 runs).
After which Jasprit Bumrah completed the 5 wicket haul by dismissing Joe Root (5 runs), Ollie Pope (23), Jonny Bairstow (25), Ben Stokes (47) and Tom Hartley (21). Jasprit Bumrah then sent James Anderson to the pavilion (6 runs) and ended England’s first innings at 253 runs. Jasprit Bumrah took 6 wickets for 45 runs in 15.5 overs. Whereas Kuldeep Yadav took 3 wickets and Akshar Patel took 1 wicket in the first innings.
By the end of the second day, Team India has scored 28 runs in the second innings without losing any wicket. Yashasvi Jaiswal (15*) and Rohit Sharma (13* runs) are unbeaten at the crease.
