Before Anderson, veteran bowlers of Sri Lanka and Australia, Muttiah Muralitharan and Shane Warne have done wonders in Test cricket. Anderson achieved this feat in 348 innings of 187 matches. Anderson also holds the world record for bowling the most number of balls as a fast bowler in Test cricket. He has bowled approximately 40 thousand balls in his 21 year long Test career.

He did not get a chance to play in the Hyderabad Test, England entered that match with the only fast bowler Mark Wood. The English team had made a great start to the series by winning that match. Since that match, Anderson has played all 4 matches.

The first time I saw Anderson play was in Australia in 2002, and his control over the ball looked special.
Nasser Hussain spoke very highly of him back then and today, I am sure, he would say, “Maine bola tha” — that he had called it so early.
