Pragyan Ojha was quoted by NDTV Sports as saying, Shreyas Iyer Left behind a little. When you talk about great batsmen like Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul has also scored runs, when they return, they will be directly part of the playing XI. So in such a situation, one of Shreyas Iyer and Rajat Patidar will have to make a place in the team.
Ojha further said, “It is not that you do not want to give chances, but when great batsmen are coming and you do not have that much space, you cannot support them. Therefore, the suggestion for Shreyas is that he should go back and score runs in domestic cricket.” Iyer has played 14 Tests so far and scored 811 runs at an average of 36.86. He has scored five half-centuries, while his only century came against New Zealand in his first Test in November 2021.
