The 8th match of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 between India and Ireland (IND vs IRE) was played yesterday on 5th June at the newly built Nassau County Cricket Stadium in New York. Let us tell you that in the match, the fast bowlers got an uneven bounce from the pitch, due to which the batsmen had to face a lot of trouble in batting.

Batting first, the entire Ireland team was all out for just 96 runs, which is also their second lowest score in T20 cricket. For India, Hardik Pandya took 3 wickets, Jaspreet Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh took 2-2 wickets and Mohammad Siraj took 1 wicket.

On the other hand, when India came out to chase this target, Team India got its first blow very early in the form of Virat Kohli (1). But after this, Rishabh Pant (36*), who came to bat, along with captain Rohit Sharma (52), made a partnership of 69 runs and put the match in India’s bag.

But after the match was over, the pitch of New York Stadium was criticized a lot. Now a big statement has come from Indian team’s batting coach Vikram Rathore. Rathore says that it is the responsibility of the batsmen to adapt themselves according to difficult conditions.

After India’s 8-wicket win over Ireland, Vikram Rathour said in the post-match speech, as per a report in India Today – It was a challenging wicket and we were expecting a challenging wicket as we had played a practice match here.

So we knew what to expect from the pitch. So, it is what it is. We need to find a way to deal with it and I think our team has enough skill and enough experience to deal with it.

We have got some really good batsmen who can bat well on any kind of pitch. I think that has been our strength for many years. We can adapt really well to different situations. I think on this pitch you need to adapt really well. One should not worry too much about it.
