Gaikwad used to play domestic cricket for Baroda
A very sad news is coming for the Indian cricket world. Let us tell you that former Indian Test cricketer Dattajiro Krishnarao Gaekwad, whose nickname was DK Gaekwad, has passed away at the age of 95. It is noteworthy that he breathed his last on Tuesday morning, 13th February.
So Gaikwad not only played for Baroda in domestic cricket, but he also got a chance to captain. So DK also made Baroda the champion under his captaincy in the 1957-58 Ranji Trophy season. Gaikwad showed excellent leadership skills in his debut season of captaincy.
So, after the death of Deepak Soudhan in the year 2016, DK Gaikwad was the oldest living cricketer of India, who has now said goodbye to this world. After the demise of Gaikwad, CD Gopinath has now become India’s oldest living cricketer.
