Mohammed Shami last played in the 2023 ODI World Cup. Mohammed Shami (Image Credit- Twitter X) Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami’s childhood coach Mohammed Badruddin has revealed that he is fully prepared for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Badruddin said the Bengal fast bowler will leave for Australia to join the Indian team after the second Border-Gavaskar Test in Adelaide. Shami recently returned to the cricket field through Ranji Trophy and he also took 4 wickets in the first innings against Madhya Pradesh. Apart from this, he also played a quick inning of 37 runs in 36 balls for his team in the second innings, which included 2 fours and 2 sixes. Mohammed Shami will go to Australia After this brilliant performance of the fast bowler, there were reports that he is all set for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Now his childhood coach has confirmed that Shami will go to Australia. Badruddin was quoted by the Indian Express as saying that he will join the Indian team after the Adelaide (second) Test. Now that he has made a comeback, has proved his fitness, has taken wickets, he will prove to be important for the team in the second half of the tour. Let us tell you that Mohammed Shami last played in the 2023 ODI World Cup. He was the bowler taking the highest number of wickets (24) in the tournament. The last Test match he played was the final of the World Test Championship in 2023. Team India suffered a crushing defeat in the home test series. It is noteworthy that the Indian team has reached Australian soil and is practicing vigorously. The first Test match between Australia and India will be played in Perth from 22 November. Indian captain Rohit Sharma will not be available for this first test. In such a situation, vice-captain Jasprit Bumrah will take command of the team. The Indian team is under a lot of pressure before BGT 2024-25, as it recently suffered a crushing 0-3 defeat against New Zealand in the home Test series. Now it remains to be seen how the Indian team performs in Australia.
