It is noteworthy that in the ongoing season of IPL, five-time champion Mumbai Indians became the first team to be eliminated from the playoff race. Also, before the start of the season, Mumbai team management had appointed Hardik Pandya as the new captain of the team in place of Rohit Sharma.

But this decision of the team has not been of much use to them. Under the captaincy of Hardik, who was traded from Gujarat Titans, Mumbai was able to win only 4 out of 14 matches played in the ongoing IPL season, while it had to face defeat in 10 matches.

Also, the fans were not happy when Hardik was made the captain in place of Rohit. Whenever Hardik Pandya went to the field during the toss or batting, the fans used to welcome him with boos.
