Even though MI’s record in the first match has not been good, they are five-time champions
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 has started and three matches have been played so far. Fifth match of the tournament today at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, five-time champion Mumbai Indians (MI) and Gujarat Titans (GT). Fans are eagerly waiting for this match.
However, when we talk about Mumbai Indians’ first match of the season, it has not been good for them. In the last decade, MI has been seen faltering in the initial matches. She has failed to win in her first matches. This trend started after the defeat against RCB in 2013 and has been consistent in the years since, which has been difficult for the franchise.
Even though MI’s record in the first match has not been good, they are five-time champions. This does not prove that an early defeat does not necessarily decide the outcome of the entire season.
