In the third match of IPL 2024, Kolkata Knight Riders registered a thrilling win by 4 runs. Batting first in the high-scoring match against SRH, Kolkata scored a huge score of 208 runs thanks to half-centuries from Andre Russell and Philip Salt. In response, Heinrich Klaasen played a stormy innings for SRH, but he could not lead the team to victory.

After losing the toss and opting to bat first, KKR scored a massive score of 208 runs at the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. In response, Sunrisers Hyderabad made a fast start to chase the target. Openers Mayank Agarwal and Abhishek Sharma batted brilliantly and took the team’s score beyond 50 within the powerplay. However, Mayank Agarwal was out after scoring 32 runs in 21 balls at the score of 60 in the sixth over.

Harshit Rana got him caught out by Rinku Singh. After taking the wicket of Agarwal, Harshit Rana lost his temper and was seen giving him a ‘flying kiss’. After this, Abhishek Sharma became Russell’s victim on a personal score of 32. Whereas Rahul Tripathi (20) and Aiden Markram (18) were out cheaply.

However, Heinrich Klaasen batted brilliantly to take SRH to the threshold of victory. He completed his half-century in just 25 balls. It seemed that he would return after leading the team to victory, but in the last over when the team needed 5 runs in two balls to win, he was out. Suyyash Sharma took a brilliant catch.

Klaasen scored 63 runs in 29 balls with the help of 8 sixes. After his dismissal, SRH could only score 204 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs. Harshit Rana was the most successful bowler for KKR. He took three wickets for 33 runs in 4 overs.
