Kolkata Knight Riders registered a one-sided win against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the first qualifier of IPL 2024. With this, Shreyas Iyer and Company have confirmed their place in the final. With the help of sharp bowling by the first bowlers, KKR restricted Hyderabad to 159 runs. After this, Shreyas Iyer and Venkatesh Iyer played half-centuries and helped the team win by 8 wickets. Earlier, the decision to bat first after winning the toss backfired for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Mitchell Starc demolished SRH’s batting order in his opening spell. Varun Chakraborty broke this partnership. He got Klaasen caught by Rinku Singh. Klaasen scored 32 runs in 21 balls with the help of 3 fours and a six. Rahul Tripathi also unfortunately got run out after scoring a half-century. He played an inning of 55 runs in 35 balls with the help of 7 fours and one six.

The lower order batsmen could not do much and the entire team was all out after scoring 159 runs in 19.3 overs. Captain Pat Cummins scored important 30 runs in 24 balls. Mitchell Starc took three wickets for KKR, while Varun Chakraborty got 2 wickets. All other bowlers took 1-1 wicket.

Shreyas Iyer and Venkatesh played half-century innings

Kolkata Knight Riders, who set out to chase the target, achieved the target by losing 2 wickets in just 13.4 overs. Venkatesh Iyer and Shreyas Iyer made an excellent partnership and wrote the story of the team’s victory.
