Kolkata has won an easy victory over Delhi by 7 wickets.
The 47th match of IPL 2024 was played today on 29 April between Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals (KKR vs DC). KKR secured a comfortable 7-wicket win against Delhi on their home ground at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

On the other hand, after this victory, KKR has reached second position in the points table of IPL 2024. Also, Rishabh Pant’s decision to bat first at the time of toss on this spin-friendly pitch proved to be a big turning point of the match. Delhi was playing a match at Eden Gardens for the first time this season, and Punjab had earlier chased 261 runs at the ground.
Keeping this in mind, Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant could have decided to bowl after winning the toss, but he did not do so. But in this match, this decision of Pant and Capitals management proved to be a miserable failure.
Delhi Capitals, who won the toss and batted first, could score only 153 runs at the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs against the excellent bowling of KKR. So the team had lost the wickets of three of its top order batsmen in the powerplay itself. By the fourth over, Prithvi Shaw (13), Jack Fraser McGurk (12) and Shay Hope (6) were out and returned to the pavilion.

Pant was out on the first ball of the 11th over while trying to play a big shot to Varun Chakraborty. At this time Delhi’s score was 93 runs. If Pant and Akshar Patel (15) had taken their slow partnership forward at this time, perhaps the result of the match could have been different.
But due to their bad decisions and poor batting, today Delhi had to face defeat by 7 wickets against KKR. KKR easily achieved the target of 154 runs given by Delhi by losing 3 wickets in 16.3 overs.
