Earlier, the team had lost in the ODI World Cup 2023 final and its dream of winning the title was shattered. Therefore, the team will be expected to perform well in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
The upcoming edition of the T20 World Cup is to be played in the USA and West Indies. The Indian team has been placed in Group A along with Pakistan, Canada, Ireland and USA. The team will face Ireland, Pakistan and the United States in New York in its group stage matches, while taking on Canada in Lauderhill.
Before the tournament, former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has focused on what role captain Rohit Sharma will play for the Men in Blue. He believes that both Rohit and Yashasvi Jaiswal will try to take maximum advantage of the powerplay.

Chopra said on his YouTube channel that it will be very important to take advantage of the first six overs in West Indies and New York. As the ball gets a little older and the field opens up, the ball will not hit the bat well and it will become difficult to score runs.

Apart from this, Aakash Chopra has talked about the performance of the Indian captain in the ongoing T-20 series against Afghanistan. Rohit Sharma has not been able to open his account in both the T20 matches played so far, because he was out for zero in both the matches.
He said, the way Rohit batted in the first two matches, it seemed that he was adopting a very aggressive mode, he was trying to hit every ball and would do so without getting set.
