Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has recently appointed former South African cricketer and veteran coach Gary Kirsten as the new white ball coach of Pakistan. So even before assuming this role in the Pakistan team, Gary has started his work, especially with captain Babar Azam.

According to Gary, Babar Azam himself has put a lot of burden on his shoulders in international cricket. However, now Gary wants Babar Azam to play his natural game so that Pakistan cricket team gets better results in the upcoming big tournaments.

Gary Kirsten gave a big statement regarding Babar Azam

Let us tell you that before taking over the coaching of Pakistan cricket team, in an interview given to Talksport, Gary Kirsten said – Dependence on Babar is not right for any player. He should not feel that he has to contribute for the team every time while batting. I am currently in touch with him and he has performed well, but the weight of the team is on his shoulders.

Gary further said – What we will try to do as a coaching staff is to step it up a bit and make him feel that he is one of the whole group of players. I want him to play his natural game. We hope that we will get to see innings like Ireland from his bat. I think if we free him, he can make an important contribution in T20 cricket, especially in winning matches.
