Today, on 4th August, Sri Lanka defeated India by 32 runs in the second ODI match played at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. In this match, young spinner Jeffrey Vandersay bowled brilliantly for Sri Lanka and took a total of 6 wickets. None of the Indian batsmen could do anything in front of Jeffrey Vandersay’s spin.
Let us tell you, Sri Lanka batted first in the second ODI and scored 240 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 50 overs. Kamindu Mendis batted brilliantly for the team and played a valuable innings of 40 runs. Apart from Kamindu Mendis, wicketkeeper batsman Kusal Mendis contributed 30 runs while Avishka Fernando also scored 40 runs.
Captain Charith Aslanka contributed 25 runs while Dunith Wellalage played an innings of 39 runs. For India, Washington Sundar took three wickets for 30 runs in 10 overs while Kuldeep Yadav took 2 wickets for 33 runs in 10 overs. Mohammad Siraj and Akshar Patel took 1-1 wickets.
The Indian team started off very well while chasing the target but as soon as captain Rohit Sharma was out, the team completely fell apart.
